Sri Lanka begins vaccinating general public from today

Sri Lanka has started vaccinating general public against COVID 19 from today, following the vaccination of frontline health workers and armed forces members.

On the instructions of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, vaccination is started in Western Province, the epicenter of pandemic in Sri Lanka, Army Commander General Shavendra Silva said today.

Vaccine will be first given to groups that are in the high risk of being infected in the province.
