The Minister of Education Prof. G.L Peiris asserted that the integration and cooperation of the private sector and the public sector is extremely crucial in achieving the future goals and objectives of our country.
He was speaking at a ceremony arranged to distribute 1.5 million face masks worth Rs. 6.8 million by Brandix Apparel Limited for the benefit of school children, which was held at the Ministry of Education Auditorium.
The Minster appreciated the efforts taken by Brandix at a critical time like this and their decision to collaborate with the government in the development of the two spheres; “water and education”.
The Education Minister highlighted that the beneficiaries of the said program are the students of the rural schools in the remote areas of Sri Lanka. Moreover, steps will be taken to distribute these masks to 5,824 schools island-wide.
Secretary to the Education Ministry, Prof. Kapila Perera, Media Secretary, Buddhika Wickramadara, Anusha Alles representing Brandix were also present at this occasion
